Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood Deception in Yard Sign Battle

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Eric and girls w. captured PP signHere I am with my six little girls and our "This family supports Planned Parenthood—NOT!" sign, captured from the enemy and corrected.

As our "Planned Parenthood is BAD for Aurora" signs begin to appear all over town, we learn that these PP signs (minus the "NOT") are being placed under dubious circumstances. Here's a message I received from a pro-lifer yesterday:

Just because people may have PP yard signs displayed in their yards, does not necessarily mean that they support PP.

My husband went over to our neighbors with the sign and calmly discussed the issue. Come to find out, PP called them asking them to allow a sign in their yard. They explained that they help women in distress with health issues, which our neighbors bought into.

As my husband explained to them what they do, the neighbor tore up the sign!

That isn't even the worst of it. A pro-Planned Parenthood sign was put up in the yard of an elderly woman suffering from Alzheimers near Annunciation Church in Aurora. And parishioners at St. Therese report that a woman has called around saying that "a lady from St. Therese gave me your number."

PP is BAD for AuroraI suppose it's possible that PP has recruited people in the parishes to make phone calls for them, but it's pretty dishonest to try to legitimate support for PP with a the suggestions of a parish connection. The churches of Aurora are opposed to Planned Parenthood.

If you'd like to put a "Planned Parenthood is BAD for Aurora" sign in your yard—or one of the "Planned Parenthood is BAD for Fox Valley" or Spanish versions coming this week—send an e-mail with your name, address and telephone number, and our Sign Captains, Andrea and Elizabeth, will get in touch with the details.

You know why they picked on St. Therese, don't you? They figure the majority of hte people speak Spanish and won't understand the message. Not only is PP sneaky, they apparently don't give bilingual people enough credit for intelligence.

One note to add to this. The "captured" sign was taken down voluntarily by the home-owner after having been duped into allowing it in the first place; one of those "St. Therese" calls.

The signs (our signs, I mean) look really good. I'm glad we decided to go with yellow signs and that particular typeface.

    Details here:

I have recieved conflicting emails on whether this Mass starts at 7PM or 7:30PM so I would be on the safe side and show up at 7PM.

  9. Christina Dunigan says:

I sent PP an email asking them to put their money where their mouth is. They say that "unwantedness" is justification for abortion. Well, why don't they abort this "clinic", since it's clearly unwanted?

It's all fine when they're the ones doing the "unwanting," but it's not as much fun for them to be the unwanted ones, is it?

Well said Christina. I went to the city council meeting last night and I personally thought it went very well. There were only 2 PP supporters I thought spoke well. Other than that I believe they dug their own grave.

    PP changing tactics?

We're hearing stories that some people with our yard signs are getting suspiciously similar harrassing phone calls from "neighbors" getting offended by the sign.

We live in a corner and have two yard signs facing each street. There is a playground/park right in front of the house and everybody has to cross the street at our corner to get there, but, thus far, have not received any calls (yet).

Has anybody received any of these calls and confirm the story?

Just wanted to share this poem that I wrote with you!

    No Questions Asked!

It’s been three weeks now, and I am really late!
He lied to me, it all happened on that crazy date.
Now he’s gone, and I am stuck in this situation.
How stupid of me, it was only an infatuation.

Now what do I do? Get rid of it? Have it? Kill it?
Haven’t told my parents, they will have a royal fit!
No money, no security! I am not ready to have this baby,
There’s got to be somebody who wants it, maybe?

For some reason, I can’t get pregnant, we tried for years,
We have tried everything, and can’t hold back the tears!
If only we could have a child, a little girl or boy,
Oh, Please God, grant us that little bundle of joy!

We would take your child in a minute, love it forever,
Unconditional love, no matter what, and leave it never!
Don’t destroy that child, don’t leave somewhere to die,
Give it up at the hospital or fire station, and we’ll not ask why!

Hey there, it’s little me, over here inside your tummy, I can see,
Now what? Who’s gonna be there? What will happen to me?
I want to grow up, with all the right things, like love, trust and understanding,
I want some one to teach me everything, I want my parents to be demanding.

Hey there, give me a chance, please let me live, I don’t want to die,
Just because he just wanted to have sex, not make love, it was a lie!
Why should I suffer? It wasn’t my fault, you just wanted some fun,
What’s going to happen to me when it’s all said and done?

    So, think about it…..seriously!
I want to live, signed little me.

I go to the illinois mathematics and science academy in west aurora. The students here are mostly pro-death, so I'm hoping to get a sign for my window and see what comments I get. Hopefully, it will help draw out the pro-life people as well.

  15. Monica says:

So what's the deal with the signs "Planned Parenthood – BAD for Aurora" ? Is that supposed to mean that Planned Parenthood can go set up shop anywhere else – we don't care – as long as it is not in Aurora ? What's so special about Aurora that PP is going to be bad for Aurora ?

And why are flyers being sent to houses about how bad Planned Parenthood is ? How about spending that money going out and educating people about birth control and abstinence instead of wasting it on a flyer. Don't tell us how bad Planned Parenthood is – tell us WHAT YOUR GROUP IS DOING to support the issues of unwanted pregnancies. Are you increasing awareness about adoptions ? Are you financially or medically supporting the women who are pregnant but not wanting their baby ? Are you talking to teenagers about birth control and abstinence? Are you talking to parents of teenagers to speak to their children about sex and birth control ?

Like any product or service – Planned Parenthood will only be used if there is a need in society. Working to eliminate unwanted pregnancies will result in no abortions taking place at Planned Parenthood. How about working towards that rather than wasting time and money in "attacking" Planned Parenthood.

Don't know how old you are but I admit to being 58 and I have spent my entire adult lifetime as a registered nurse(34 yrs) Doing all you say we should do but without the fear of the child that drives PP and with a respect for women they have not had since Margaret Sanger founded PP as a Eugenics movement. And I have done it without their mega billons of dollars. The Lifers have nothing to answer to PP about we are the only reason you still have a Right to Life and Freedom of Speech. Once one human being has lost those Rights we are all in danger so you best pray that we don't give up and go away.
We do not offer a product or service we offer a healthy Life with out regrets just respect.

Sorry about 2 posts in a row. But Just wanted to say I have been missing on the Prayer Vigil and events because I have been busy helping a young expectant mom on bedrest with an 18 month old and a little one who was trying to get out too soon. Success! Friday was a Good Birthday and she now has a beautiful 5# 8 oz baby girl. Pray for the little one who must have heart surgery in a month. Sorry to burst your bubble Monica but we do walk the talk. And I do little compared to some.

Monica, by allowing people to end life because of convenience and by not promoting a culture of responsibility we are loosing our identity as America.
A diplomatic figure spoke to a Russian counterpart after the end of the cold war and asked why they had to kill so many innocent people and the Russian replied, Don't think you are any better, because you kill just as many only you do it before birth.
When did we stop valuing life? When did we give in? When did the idea of responsibility vanish??? In America we are spoon fed a healthy dose of anything goes and if you do anything wrong a lawyer or "medical procedure" can fix it.
It isn't about rights, it is about and irresponsible abuse of an option to erase an unintended pregnancy.
MEN ARE AS MUCH TO BLAME! I do not want to saddle women with the decision, the pain, and the agony of realization. Men need to keep it in thier pants or respect the possible consequences of thier actions by being responsible.
I don't want to be angry, I don't want to point fingers, but I do want you to understand that freedom doesn't exempt you from individual responsiblity. We are in this together, can't we agree that killing unborn babies is wrong? Even if you think it is the lesser of two evils, can't we agree that having an abortion isn't cause for celebration??

In response to Monica's statement above:

The whole concept of birth control is its mindset. One who uses birth control has it in their head, "absolutely no baby." Then when the birth control fails, that mindset has not changed, "absolutely no baby" so off to the abortion clinic we go, to make sure that baby is absolutely out of the picture, dead!Artificial birth control is many times the recipe for abortion.

Yes, some people don't want to have children. What a news flash! And yes, they want the bonding that sex brings to a relationship. So we use birth control. Why is that bad????
