Our "Life Support" Team
Since Planned Parenthood of Aurora opened on October 2, 2007, we have conducted our "Life Support" initiative. Pro-life volunteers maintain a peaceful, prayerful presence at the facility whenever it is open, ready to provide support for women in crisis—to offer a real choice.
We are there to bring hope and light into the place of darkness and despair that so many women find themselves in, and to offer practical help in any way we can.
40 Days for Life: September 23 to November 1
From September 23 through November 1, our Life Support initiative will be folded into the 40 Days for Life campaign. Volunteers will pray at Planned Parenthood in Aurora in concert with pro-lifers in over 200 cities and towns across America.
This year's 40 Days campaign will depart from the pattern of previous vigils with a new three-part strategy:
- Target prayer at the hours Planned Parenthood is open—sign up below!
- Expand the sidewalk counseling ministry—training seminar September 19!
- Highlight the vigil with special events scheduled over the 40 days.
The campaign will launch at 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 23 with a 24-hour vigil, starting with a candlelight service led by local clergy—the first special event of 40 Days Aurora 2009. Please sign up for prayer hours during that 24-hour period.
After the opening 24-hour vigil, prayer hours will be focused on the hours that Planned Parenthood is opened for business, Monday through Saturday, though you are welcome to come any time and pray—just be sure to bring a friend.
Sign Up for 40 Days for Life Hours
We ask you to sign up to be physically present for an hour or more at the Planned Parenthood facility at 3051 E. New York St. in Aurora (map). We also encourage you to bring a friend and to encourage others to join Life Support.
To submit your pledge for 40 Days for Life, write in the date(s) and time(s) you would like to come out:
- Review the calendar below. The hours and needs vary from day to day. We would like to have at least two people praying at the site to call the time "Covered".
- Decide the hours you would like to come out. Any time marked as Available or Need One is in need of more Life Supporters. You may sign up for any period of time, but full hours, starting on the hour, are recommended.
- Fill out the 40 Days for Life times form at the right. The captain in charge of your days(s) may be in contact with you to confirm your pledge.
Note: Planned Parenthood's abortion hours are identified by an asterisk (*).

Calendar Instructions
Sign up using the "Choose Your Hours" box above and to the right. You can sign up for an hour, two hours or whatever. You do not need to sign up for the whole time indicated as Need or Available. Typically people start and stop their times on the hour (eg. 9am, 1pm, 6pm), but this is not required. If you can pray from 11:30-12:30am, please sign up for those times.
